EMPOWERING ACTIVITY

An ear of corn is a term sometimes used to describe a piece of corn, but these ears are very different than the ears that we have.

With your class, try to count to the total number of people in your class (for example, if there are 20 people in your class, count to 20). Once the teacher says “Go!” you can start. Each person is only allowed to say one number, and if two people say the same number at the same time, start back at the number 1.

If you are having trouble as a class, take a minute to discuss a strategy with your classmates.

This activity requires you to carefully listen to what your classmates are saying.

Good communication and listening skills when discussing with your class are important to make sure everyone is on the same page, so that everyone can efficiently work together to reach the end goal.
