Steven Belding
Board Chair
Senior Program Manager, Google
Steven is an experienced management consultant, program manager, and mentor with over a decade of experience in the tech industry. He has a BS in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley. After multiple years of living and working overseas in Europe, Steven is now a Senior Program Manager at Google working at the intersection between technology and public policy to keep users and society safe.
He is passionate about improving access to high-quality education for underserved or underrepresented communities, with a specific focus on non-traditional educational journeys, such as community colleges and/or trade schools.
In his free time, Steven enjoys cycling, spending quality time with his partner and dog in nature, and traveling.
Alyssa Sones
Vice Chair
Associate, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP
Alyssa is an attorney with expertise in data privacy, consumer, and advertising law. She represents companies across many industries including entertainment, retail, fashion, food and beverage. She has over five years of experience counseling and advocating for clients at Sheppard Mullin. Previously, Alyssa obtained her law degree from UCLA School of Law and studied political science and computer science at the University of Washington. Alyssa currently serves as the Lead Associate of Sheppard Mullin's Retail Industry Team and serves as an editor of its Retail Trend Spotter blog.

Boundless Brilliance Founder
Nina is one of the founders of Boundless Brilliance and is a longtime, passionate advocate for diversity in STEM. From 2017-2019 she worked with her co-founders to expand and solidify the guiding values of the organization. She now works in tech, solving complex and technical problems and leaning into the joys and struggles of working in a startup environment. Nina is a graduate of Occidental College and lives in Los Angeles.
Amanda Zellmer McCormack
Treasurer
Associate Professor, Occidental College
Amanda J. Zellmer is an Associate Professor of Biology at Occidental College. Her research focuses on using computational ecology to study how humans impact species and inform conservation and management. She received her Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin. Amanda has two young kids and enjoys taking them out into nature to look for salamanders and other slimy things. In her free time, you can find Amanda out on the soccer field. Since her undergraduate days, Amanda has advocated for women and underrepresented minorities in STEM fields, visiting elementary school classrooms, supporting philanthropies that provide books for kids, and advising aspiring undergraduate scholars.
Azi Mohebbi
Chair of Finance & Fundraising Committee
Azi graduated from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, with an MA and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. She has work experience in Pacific Bell/SBC Communications as the Director of Customer Satisfaction, analyzing customer data through statistical analysis, and reporting to the upper management of the company.
Azi also served as a volunteer in non-profits throughout the years as the treasurer, in fundraising and donations solicitation for events benefiting the communities in need around the Bay Area. Currently, she is a co-president of EPFL Alumni U.S. West Coast Chapter organizing speaker and networking events for the alumni in the region.
Azi is fluent in French and Farsi, and thrives in giving back to the community.
Lily Gebhart
Board Member
Lily Gebhart is a sophomore Mathematics and Cognitive Science major at Occidental College. She is the current president of the Occidental College chapter of Boundless Brilliance and has been involved in the organization since August 2021. On campus, she is also involved in Dance Production, Habitat for Humanity, mathematics tutoring, and computational Cognitive Science and Particle Physics research. Lily greatly enjoys teaching and developing resources to help others find joy in intellectual pursuits and cultivate passions of their own. She plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Computational Cognitive Science and work in academia. In her free time, Lily enjoys hiking and biking through Northern California, knitting, and reading.
