Did you know you can make magic with the milk in your fridge? Check out this post to learn how!
Materials:
Pie Tin, Food Coloring (3-4 different colors), about 1 cup milk, dish soap, cotton swabs
Time Estimated:
10 minutes
Directions:
Pour the milk into your pie tin so that it completely covers the bottom of the tin.
Take your food coloring and put a few drops into your milk.
Dip your cotton swab in a small amount dish soap.
Using your cotton swab, swirl the colors on the surface of the milk.
Watch the color spread!
Think Like a Scientist:
Why does the food coloring shy away from the cotton swab?
Would this work in water? Let us know why or why not in the comments below!
How It Works:
Milk contains fat in it in the form of molecules that are bonded together. The dish soap breaks apart these bonds, causing the food coloring to spread and shy away from the dish soap!
