Think Like A Scientist:

  1. How many layers of skin do we have?

  2. Why do we have different layers of skin? What does each layer do?

How It Works:

Face masks are a great way to treat your skin. They help moisturize it and keep it healthy, preventing it from drying out and becoming rough and flaky!

Your skin consists of three layers: there is the outermost layer called the epidermis, the layer underneath is called the dermis, and the innermost layer of tissue called the subcutis.

Your epidermis, the part of our skin that we applied our face masks to, is extremely important because it protects your body from the outside world.

The next layer, your dermis, helps you sweat and grow hair.

Finally, the subcutis helps maintain your body temperature and keep it constant most of the time so you don’t get too hot or cold!
